What is a Reality Tour?
Reality Tour will provide the opportunity to visit community organizations and hear the stories of people directly affected by dysfunctional social and economic systems that do not meet their basic human needs. You will also hear from people who work to end poverty every day, and people who are affected by it, from the homeless to the working poor. Ultimately, a Reality Tour is about becoming involved in the moment to win economic human rights for all.
Who Guides the Tour?
The Rochester Chapter of Social Welfare Action Alliance (SWAA) will guide our tour. SWAA is a national organization of progressive social workers and other human service workers. Founded in 1985, the Alliance is based on principles that reflect a concern for social and economic justice, peace and coalition building with progressive social movements. These principles articulate a need by social service workers for a practice and theory that responds to progressive concerns. To learn more, please visit: http://www.swaarochester.org/swaa/Homes.html.
RSVP by October 24th, 2012 -- LIMITED SEATS LEFT FOR THE TOUR!
Space is limited to 20 people
